TEST LOG
of bitumen samples

The tests were carried out in laboratory AOZT "Dorproect" of Ministry of Transport of RA.
The samples of polymer-bitumen mixture named "Naralex" were presented for physical-and-mechanical properties' testing with purpose of the use in roadway covering.
The tests were carried out according to GOST 22245-90 (GOST means State standard). The tests were carried out using the devices of "Controls" type (France) such as penetrometer and the device for measuring of softening temperature by the method of "ring and sphere" (rise in temperature was 5° per minute).

The result:

1. Mixture intermixing was made at the temperature of 150°
2. Mixture viscosity increases according to the rise in percentage of Naralex mixture.
3. Polymer melts down into bitumen during 15-30 minutes depending on particles' size of polymer (0.2-5mm) and on intensity of mixing .

 

Conclusion:

The tests have shown that depending on percentage of polymer in mixture, the physical-and-mechanical properties of bitumen are altered. Optimal percentage of polymer in mixture is in the interval of 5-10%.

TEST LOG
of polymer-concrete samples

The samples of polymer-concrete mixture "Naralex" were presented to the laboratory AOZT "Dorproect" for physical-and-mechanical properties' testing with purpose of the use as roadway covering.
Tests were carried out according to GOST 12801-84 named "Asphalt-concrete, road and aerodrome, tar-macadam road, asphalt-concrete and tar-macadam (tar-concrete) mixtures" and their testing methods.

Data were received from the samples 100x100 mm.

The result:

1.  Polymer-concrete samples of "Naralex" type are made using the waste of local natural rocks (such as granite, marble, porphyrite and others).
2. Tested samples of polymer mixture of "Naralex" type are comparable with the requirements of standard GOST 9218-84 by physical-and-mechanical indexes.
3. Polymer-concrete mixture "Naralex" is reversible, i.e. old covering may be repeatedly used by means of grinding.

 

Conclusions:

Tests have shown the possibility of recommendation of "Naralex" mixture for the use as roadway covering, however it is necessary to carry out the additional works in order to conduct the real tests of route for rut appearance, effacing, crack resistance and sliding.
The covering on the basis of "Naralex" mixture is repairable, has a turn-over of composition, i.e. it is possible to regenerate the covering without additional admixtures.

Tests are checked by method of Marshall.
